Entry Submission & Forms PDF Print E-mail

It's Crown Awards time again! Time for you to take advantage of this valuable asset to your membership in ICVM. The Crown Awards are designed to recognize excellence in production and content of films and videos that are created to reflect Christian values in a secular world.

The following file contains information you will need to submit your film(s) to the Crown Awards:
Entry Submission Form (Send this form in along with your film - one form per film, please).

- You may download the ENTRY SUBMISSION FORM here.

Nominations
Your company must be a current member of ICVM in order to submit an entry. You may renew your membership online here. It is the producer's responsibility to nominate his or her own project, regardless of who is the distributor. Thus, a distributor who did not actually make the product cannot nominate a production. (This will avoid confusion over names, categories and other matters that are best left in the hands of the filmmakers themselves.) The exceptions to this rule are distributors who have either an exclusive deal on a particular film for the church market or invested more than 50% of ones budget.

Eligibility
Any member producer can nominate a film. This includes producers around the world who are working in visual media in any way. A project can be nominated for any of the applicable categories.

Deadline
Member submissions must be shipped no later than APRIL 1, 2012!  NO exceptions. Send your entries along with your registration(s) and a check for $75 to the following address:

Submissions
FORMATS: Six (6) DVD NTSC(all region or North America) copies of the title. In addition, we are requesting one copy of a trailer for the nomination and a 1 minute clip for each category nominated for a given title.   If that is not possible, please be sure that at least one DVD is NOT copy protected and marked as such. We need to pull clips for the winning entries and if they are copy-protected, we cannot do it. By submitting your DVDs, you are agreeing to allow the jurists to keep their viewed copy for their own personal use.

Be sure to carefully review the qualifications for each category before you submit your production for that category. Some categories have special requirements that must be met to qualify for nomination in that category.

BEST SERIES Category: When a title is nominated for Best Series, only one episode from the series need be sent. This episode should be the one that you feel best exemplifies the content of the series.

Fees
A completed registration form (one per title) must be submitted by mail, to the address above, clearly showing each category applied for. Enclose a check in the amount of $75. In 2012 there is no limit to the number of categories a producer may submit entries for in the Crown Awards. Make checks payable to ICVM. NOTE: In 2012 there is NO SUBMISSION FEE FOR STUDENT ENTRIES! The deadline for student entries, ONLY, is April 15th, 2012. All other submissions are due by April 1st, 2012.

Judging/Voting
The nominations will be submitted to a panel of five visual media professionals chosen by the Awards Committee. The voting will be done on a scale of 1 to 10 in each of the categories shown on the nomination form.  Through this process, the judging panel decides the Gold, Silver and Bronze Crown Award for each category. If there are not enough qualified films submitted by at least TWO different producers in any particular category, the committee reserves the right to hold the nomination over to the following year pending more entries.

ICVM FILM FESTIVAL

In 2012, there will be no Film Festival.  In place of that, we will be doing a “Trailer Fest” on Tuesday morning, July 10 from 9 – 12 in which all submitted trailers will be shown.
