Industry and Member News - May 2020

Hello ICVM family and friends,

I’m grateful to serve as the new Executive Director for ICVM. Paul Sirmons now leads our board and we are all here to serve our industry and our members, as we continue to grow as a supportive Christian community for this generation of storytellers. We have many things happening behind the scenes to expand ICVM beyond an annual conference and increase the value of your membership. If you're not a member, here's how to join.

The big news we are highlighting this month is all about the 45th Crown Awards. Submissions are now open and we're excited to see what you've been up to!

We are still moving ahead with plans for the ICVM Storytellers Conference in November in Glendale. We are in touch with the hotel to determine what precautions and changes will be made to keep attendees safe. We are also exploring an online component for those unable to attend, so please keep us in prayer as the changing situation unfolds.

Also, if you have any news items, press releases, or information on your projects, please let us know! Submit any tips or press releases to [email protected]

Grace and peace,

Jared Geesey
ICVM Executive Director

WE NEED YOU TO BE A CROWN AWARDS JUROR!

WE STILL NEED SOME JURISTS!

We received a fantastic response last week to our call for jurists, and most of the slots are filled.  Thank you for that!  But we still have some openings available, so if you didn’t email us last week but want to help judge Crown Awards submissions, you can!

You’ll watch one, possibly two, categories of films, documentaries, TV shows or other programming submitted for our 45th annual Crown Awards between early June and September 21st.

All viewing is easy and online through our new Film Freeway platform (https://filmfreeway.com/ICVM-Crown-Awards .  We will let you know as each video is submitted, but you can watch whenever it is convenient for you.

Here are the 18 categories -- you can let us know which categories you would like to, or feel most qualified to, be a jurist for.  However, based on availability, you may get assigned to other categories.  If the program is a series, you'll only need to watch one submitted episode.

IF YOU WORKED ON A SHOW IN ANY ONE CATEGORY, YOU WILL NEED TO RECUSE YOURSELF FROM JUDGING THAT CATEGORY.  You may still judge other categories!

Learn more here

If you are ready to help us by being a juror, please email Nancy Rogers today with the categories you'd like to judge
